Class Trip to the Toronto Zoo

This year, Athena's class trip was to the Toronto Zoo. Athena is very shy and timid, so I decided that I should volunteer to go, so that she didn't miss out on the experience. I had to mention to the teacher that even though I was willing to help out, I really couldn't manage a big group of kids, considering my ankle and my pregnant belly. She was very accommodating, and in the end, my little group consisted only of Athena and I and her friend Cassidy. It was nice and we really enjoyed our day. We only got to go to the "Americas" and "African" indoor/outdoor pavilions, but the weather was great and the animals were active and alert, so we got some good photos. But, by the end of the day I had VERY sore belly muscles and a VERY swollen and aching ankle! (Thank goodness I remembered to bring the Tylenol) It was worth it though, to see the excitement on the kid's faces as they looked at the animals and to watch them pick out souvenirs in the gift shop. We had a wonderful day!
