Piano Movers

For quite some time now, I have wanted one of my children to take piano lessons. My sister played the piano and I remember how nice to was to hear her play, especially at Christmas time. Last weekend, as I was browsing through Kijiji.ca, I came across an ad where someone was giving away a piano.... and in Picton no less! The piano is an antique upright grand, made in Listowel (Mennonite country).

So tomorrow, around 5pm we are taking a U-Haul, 4 strong men, and moving this beautiful piano to our house. And the nice thing is, other than the cost of moving it and tuning it, it's totally free! Now, it's just convincing one of the kid's to learn to play! Music has always been an important part of my life.... I was in band in elementary and highschool (I played the clarinet, bass clarinet, saxaphone and a bit on the flute).... maybe I should take piano lessons too!

But for now, I guess I'm gonna have to settle for my kid's banging on the keys until a tune comes to mind.....

Wish us luck tomorrow.... we've never moved anything this size before, it should be fun!

happy moving... are you asking for ear protection for Christmas? John's dad is giving us a piano too - we just haven't figured out a way to get it here from London.

I'm writing to file an official complaint that you haven't updated.... I'm bored and need something to read! Kidding, I know you're busy, just wanted to let you know that I'll see you for coffee in a couple of weeks.
