Lonely Week

This week we received some bad news that Bryan's biological mother was ill and not doing well. The hospital had called in the family, not feeling that her condition was very good. We were back and forth for a couple of days..... do we go and take the whole family?.... or would Bryan make the trip alone and I would take the week off and stay back with the kids?

After looking at everything involved; the 30+ hour bus ride from Belleville, an arrival time of 5am in Kenora, the cost of eating out for the week and the fact that we had no transportation or place to stay once there, we decided that it would be best if I stayed here with the kids.

So tonight at 7:30pm, Bryan will be heading out to catch the 9pm bus to Kenora. He will be gone for a week. It's going to be so hard to watch him go. This will be the first time in 8 years and the first time since we were first together, that we will have been that far apart or away from each other for that length of time.

I know he needs to do this.... to say good-bye to his mother. It's a very hard time for everyone right now and even harder having to do this apart from each other.
